The Tower

What is The Tower?

Once upon a time (in 1592 Italy), a young noblewoman was locked in a tower by her own flesh and blood. There she remained for many years, awaiting her salvation—whether by a gallant knight, a philosopher-priest, an avenging angel, or uncanny forces betwixt God and the Devil. Yet this maiden, a certain Angelica Pallavicino, did not remain idle during her long years of solitude. No, she wrote, and wrote some more, and thought, loved, ached, healed, raged, conjured, and ascended to the very height of that tower.

Her voice would not remain shuttered behind stone walls. This manuscript is the record of her time in the tower—and how she was liberated.

The genre of these fair missives is literary gothic, magical realism, and historical fiction (16th century); but herein you will also find romance—of both the natural and supernatural kind—spirit evocations, hermetic initiation, folklore, fable, Bildungsroman, philosophical ascent, and visionary ecstasy.
